History of the WLHS

The West London Hammer School was formed by Alan Bertram in 1977, the first club of its kind in the UK. During this period he has coached 40 English schools winners, in excess of 40 AAA winners (National Champions) and over 30 Internationals have been produced from within the Hammer School – 10 of these at senior level.

The school moved from Vale Farm to Perivale Park Athletics Track early in 2003 and is now managed by Jamie Bath, who is mentored by Alan. Jamie Bath has now moved the School in different directions with the great achievement of gaining Clubmark.
