Richard NewboldEvents: Middle distance, cross country and steeplechase Qualifications: UKA Level 3 Steeplechase Venue: Mile End Stadium, Rhodeswell Road, London E14. Day(s): Tuesdays (other sessions by arrangement) Time: Juniors (10-16) 6.30pm, Seniors 7.30pm Group ability range: Lower standard club runners to county standard athletes. Description: Sessions generally follow time rather than distance for majority of athletes, enabling all athletes to have equal recovery times. Sessions are designed for double peak season of winter cross country and summer track. Group is often split up due to athletes' different targets. RN mainly works with members of VPH but also coaches athletes from other clubs. He is a (vaguely) competitive athlete who started competing in 1979 and who has been coaching for 4 years. Floodlit with hurdles and barriers readily available. Water jump is only available at weekends. Track has changing and showering facilities and is a 5' walk from Mile End Tube. |
