Victoria Park Harriers & Tower Hamlets ACSecretary: Brenda Puech, 51 Rochford Walk, London E8 3HQ Chairman: Ray Russo E-mail: info@vph.org.uk Web-site: www.vphthac.org.uk MALES & FEMALES:Victoria Park Harriers and Tower Hamlets AC merged in October 2001, in VPH's 75th Anniversary Year (founded 1926) and in Tower Hamlets AC's silver jubilee year (founded 1976). Notable athletes have included Geoff Iden, marathon, Derek Bareford, decathlon and Mike McFarlane, sprints. Ricki Fifton, Symone Belle and Chris Musa are amongst the current crop of talented juniors. The club competes in Div. 1 and 4E of the Southern Men's Track Lg., Division 3E of the Southern Women's Track Lg., and is launching a Boy's Team in the Young Athlete's Lg. this season. The Club also competes in the Chingford Lg. for cross-country and the Assembly Lg. and Sunday Parks' Lg. on the road. Headquarters: VPH Clubhouse, St Augustine's Hall, Cadogan Terrace, Victoria Park, E9 5EG which is open Mon.-Thur. and Sunday mornings for training and socialising. It has a gym equipped with multi-gym and free weights, a sports hall for indoor training and a licensed bar. Main Club nights are Tuesday and Thursday at 6-45pm. Track and Field events take place at Mile End Stadium, Rhodeswell Rd., E14 4TW. where training is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays- Juniors at 6pm, Seniors at 7pm. Other training sessions at other times are organised by arrangement with the Club's coaches. |
