MALES & FEMALES: The Club came into being in 1887 as East Twickenham Harriers, which, as it grew, became Twickenham Harriers in 1888 and Thames Valley Harriers in 1890. Steve Cotterill was the Club’s first National Cross Country Champion in 1892. The past sixty years has seen International status be attained by over one hundred Valley athletes. Olympic Honours have come to many past members, and the Club’s President, Linford Christie OBE is the former Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth 100m Champion.

In Track & Field, the Men compete in Division 1 of the BAL, in the BAL Gold Cup and in Division 2 of the Southern League. The Women participate in the UK Women’s League, the BAL Gold Cup alongside the men, and together with the Girls, are in Division 2 of the Women’s Southern League. The Under 20 Men and Women enjoy competition in the Junior League and the Under 13 to Under 17 Boys and Girls, in the Young Athletes League.

All age groups, both male and female, take part in the Metropolitan Cross Country League, and the younger members also in the North West London Young Athletes League.

On the Road, there is participation in a full programme of 10k and Half Marathon events.

Social runners of all standards can be assured of a warm welcome also.

Headquarters : Linford Christie Stadium, Du Cane Road, W12 (nearest Tube station – East Acton, Central Line.) The stadium has an eight lane tartan track, an undercover tartan training area, and within the Club House, a hall for indoor training. Adjacent to the track is the cross country course, around Wormwood Scrubs.

Training Days & times : Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00pm, and Sunday mornings from 10.30am.
