West Hampstead Web-site: www.serpentine.org.uk MALES & FEMALES: The club was formed in 1982 at the start of the jogging boom to serve a need in central London. The club comprises mostly of seniors and veterans and compete over road, cross-country and track and field since 1989 and caters for all standards. A feature of the club is the Serpentine ‘Last Friday in the month 5k' held in Hyde Park. The club also contributes to organising and officiating the New Year's Day 10k, also held in Hyde Park. Their outstanding runner has been Hilary Walker who holds several world bests at ultra distances. The club competes in mens Southern T & F Lg. Div. 2 and 5, the Southern Counties Vets League, male and female, the Metropolitan Cross-Country league, the Sunday Cross-Country Lg. and the London Road League. Headquarters: Seymour Leisure Centre. Club road training Tues. & Wed. 7.0pm, Sat. 10.0am. Track training is held at Battersea Park Tues. & Thus. 7.00pm. Senior middle distance coach Frank Horwill is usually available. |
