MALES & FEMALES: Highgate Harriers was
founded in 1879. The club is based at the Parliament Hill athletics track
on the south side of Hampstead Heath, London, NW5 and, with nearly 800
acres of undulating heathland on which to train, has developed a strong
tradition in cross country running.
Athletes of all standards and abilities are welcome
Track and Field
The women and girls compete in Division Three (North) of the Southern
Women's League and finished the 2004 season in 5th place.
The senior men's 'A' team compete in Division One of the Southern Men's
League, finishing the 2004 season in 2nd place. The 'B' team compete in
Division four following promotion in 2000 and ended the 2004 season in
12th place.
A youngsters team of girls and boys competes in the Young Athletes League
(Southern Division 2NW)
Cross Country
The men, women and youngsters compete in the London Metropolitan Cross
Country League where the senior women finished the 2003/2004 season as
League Champions for the second year running. The club also competes in
all the major County, Area and National cross country championships. In
the 2003/2004 season, both the men and the women took the honours at the
Middlesex County Championships, the Greater London Championships and the
North London Championships. The women are also the South of England
Champions.
In the 2004 English National Cross Country Championships, the women
finished in 4th place while the men finished 22nd.
